Two wins for Livingston’s Youth section
Livingston Rugby Football Club Youth Section faced Dalziel this week.
The S1 and Under-14 teams were at home along with the Under-18s, with the Under-15 and 16 sides away from home.
It was a mixed weekend for the club with two of the five teams claiming wins. First up were the Under-18s, who lost out to a strong side, with the Under-16 team faring no better.
The hat-trick of defeats was completed with the Under-15s going down 69-7, with coach Sandra Dalling admitting:“The boys just couldn’t compete physically, despite some good handling.”
Aaron Gregory scored the sole Livi try with Alistair Dalling adding the conversion.
The news was significantly better for the Under-14 boys who scored a 45-16 victory in a development game with Josh de Mora scoring six tries. Joshua Anderson (two), Mason Arthurs, Jamie Russell and Matthew Anderson also touched down with Robin McBurnie kicking nine conversions.
The S1 side were the pick of the bunch as they shut out Dalziel in a 33-0 victory.
Campbell Hogg scored three tries and two conversions, with Dean Kinghorn (two), Aaron Steel, Sean Burns, Ross Paterson and Finlay Anderson all getting their name on the scoresheet.
