Support air ambulances

-

May I in this, National Air Ambulance Week (Sep 19 to 25), highlight the amazing work being carried out by Scotland’s only charity funded helicopter air ambulance.

Scotland is justifiably proud of its two Government funded helicopter air ambulances - but a similar third resource proving vital to the people of Scotland relies totally on YOU to keep it in the air.

Now in its fourth year, Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA) has flown the equivalent of more than four times round the world taking expert paramedic aid to the scene of accidents and emergencies across the whole of Scotland and our many islands and flying patients onwards to hospitals.

We have responded to well over 1,220 emergency call outs from Sanday in the Orkney Isles and south to Gatehouse of Fleet - and even to communities across the English border.

Our vital frontline service - fronted by a team of highly experienced and expert pilots and paramedics - has saved many lives and improved many more. We have touched the lives of families, friends, colleagues and communities of those we attend.

SCAA has attracted invaluable backing from the people of Scotland - it is YOUR helicopter - and we are hugely appreciative of the ongoing support we receive from those already engaged with the charity.

No one likes to think they or their loved ones will ever need the services of SCAA - but we all like to know it’s there if we do.

Please help ensure that SCAA can fly into the future to continue our amazing work for everyone - whenever and wherever the need is greatest - by considering a donation in National Air Ambulance Week.

Your giving is the only fuel we fly on. You might need our help tomorrow - but we need your help today.

Please donate now by texting with your amount to SCAA16 or find out more about Scotland’s airborne lifesavers by visiting www.scca.org.uk

Thanks for great day

On behalf of the Broxburn GGala Day Committee I would like to take this opportunity to thank all local businesses for their tremendous support of this years event and that of previous years. I truly hope our association continues for many years to come.

The old committee had decided five years ago to cancel the event entirely and the new committee we have today (myself included) picked up the mantle in the hope we could continue this fantastic and very important community event and restore it to its former glory.

I am immensely proud to say, in my humble opinion, we have not only restored it, but surpassed all expectations (even allowing for the rotten weather this year!).

The Broxburn Gala Day is well and truly back and setting the standard for everyone else to follow.

This would never have been possible however without your support, and I hope that this small token of our appreciation is received in the manner in which it is intended.

We are always looking for new committee members and fresh ideas, please contact me personally if there is anything you wish to offer.

Next years event is already on the radar and we are exploring a significant change in location and parade set-up. Every Gala Day is a hugely rewarding challenge, if we implement the proposed changes, even more so please feel free to lend a hand, we know you can be relied on!

Thank you once again, it is a pleasure working with you on this special community event,
