Tributes for tragic Jane
Car left road and struck tree
Tributes have been paid to a West Lothian woman who died after her car collided with a tree at the weekend.
Jane Mulholland ( 47) of Blackburn, was fatally hurt during the crash on Wester Breich Road, West Calder on Saturday.
It happened at around 1.10am when her silver Citroen DS3 left the road and ran into the tree.
Paramedics attended the scene but sadly Jane was pronounced dead at the scene.
Flowers and messages were left at the scene earlier this week and friends took to Facebook to offer their condolences to Jane’s family. Claire Murison Stout said: “Rest in peace Jane. The good ones are always taken far too soon. Please stay watching over your beautiful family. Sadly missed.” Irene Donnachie said: “RIP my friend, look down on your family and give them the strength to get through life without you. Fond memories forever.”
Cindy Grogan said: “Met you Jane way back before I even moved to Livingston. Right away I knew we would get on. You were the loveliest I have ever met and your laugh and smile will never leave me.
“You were a fantastic mother and grandmother who totally devoted yourself to your family. Still can’t believe it my beautiful Jane. Sleep tight lovely.”
And Pauline Gilhooly added: “Fly high with the angels Jane, thoughts and prayers with your wonderful children and grandchildren and all your family. Taken too soon.”
A stretch of road between the A705 and B7015 was closed until around 8am to allow investigations to be carried out.
Police are still making inquiries into the incident and have asked for witnesses to come forward.
Sergeant Neil Inglis of the Road Policing Unit said: “Jane’s next of kin have been informed and our condolences are with them at this very difficult time.
“Our investigation to establish the full circumstances surrounding the collision continues, and we’d ask anyone who can help to come forward.
“Anyone who may have witnessed this collision, or who saw the Citroen beforehand, is urged to get in touch as soon as possible.”
Those with information are asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 or make an anonymous report through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
