Care event for all ages
the annual West Lothian Mental Health and physical Wellbeing event takes place next week.
the event is being on Wednesday, october 5, in the main hall at strathbrock partnership Centre in Broxburn from 10am until 2pm.
the event has been organised by strathbrock Mental Health resource Centre and over 60 mental health and physical wellbeing organisations will be participating on the day and include a wide range of statutory, voluntary and charitable groups encompassing all life stages from childhood to old age.
subjects covered will include mental and physical health, healthy lifestyles, personal health checks, youth issues, education, employment, housing, support, legal, carers, advocacy, counselling, day services, support for the elderly, complimentary therapies, drugs and alcohol services.
a diverse range of information and advice will also be available on the day along with visual presentations and therapists providing a range of massages to show the therapeutic benefits these methods can bring.
Michael Duncan from the Community Mental Health team said:“this annual event is the largest of its kind in Lothian and we are delighted to have so many organisations participating again this year. It’s a great opportunity for people to come along and informally find out about the excellent range of services and support available.”
