Steel family affair at Livingston

-

Livingston Rugby Football Club Youth Section S2- Under-18s were up against Allen Glens this week in what can only be described as tough opposition for all the Livingston teams.

The S1 game was cancelled due to waterlogged pitches at Allen Glens with the S2 game changed at the last minute to Livingston.

The Under-18s lost out 64-28 to with Rory Anderson and Ryan Archibald getting the tries and Dan Robinson the conversions.

The Under-16s and 15s also lost out in close games, with the elder age group showing improved defensive work.

Aaron Steel, who celebrated his birthday on the pitch, took the only try for the S2s whilst Robin McBurnie the conversion as they lost 54-4.

Aaron had plenty of reason for cheer though with the Steel family who were out in force playing for Livingston; brothers, Ewan (U16) getting a try, Jack (U16) two conversions and Blair (P6) three tries along with cousin Andrew (P6) another try and not forgetting cousins Kyle (U16) and John (P2) who helped their teams this weekend against Allen Glens and Penicuick.

Aaron’s dad, Graham, is the Under-16 coach as well as 1st XV player and uncle Ian coaches the P6s while mum Lee Anne is the club’s President who donned the referee hat for the day before helping Aaron celebrate his birthday with his family.

If you want to get involved, especially S2s, please email Maria. LRFC@Outlook.com for more information.
