The next meeting will be held on Thursday October 27. This friendly café provides a safe and welcoming space for people with dementia and their carers and also anyone who enjoys reminiscin­g and sharing memories of ‘days gone by’. Do come and enjoy some refreshmen­ts, support, fun activities and friendly company. Carers on their own are also welcome, as are people with dementia who are able to make their own way there. Kirknewton and East Calder Guild next meeting is Tuesday October 18 at 7.30pm. It will be a Guild Fellowship Evening with a Harvest Supper. Guild meets in East Calder Church Hall at 7.30p.m. on the first and third Tuesdays of the month. We have a very varied programme. We would welcome anyone, male or female, who might be interested in any of the above items on our programme to come along and join us, they would be made most welcome.

Boys’ Brigade meets in East Calder Church Hall on Friday evenings. Boys from 5 - 18 years welcome. For further details contact Jean Gilchrist Tel 880367. Simply Play at East Calder provides award winning afterschoo­l childcare in East Calder. They are based in East Calder Community Centre and collect children from East Calder and St Paul’s Primary Schools. We welcome along all abilities, male or female. And we run varying distances.
