Memory Café, Newyearfie­l meets first Thursday of the month, 2.15 - 3.30pm at Newyearfie­ld Farm Community Centre, Hawk Brae, Livingston North EH54 6AB. This friendly café welcomes people with dementia and their carers where they can meet others in a similar situation for support and social contact whilst enjoying refreshmen­ts, friendly company and various activities. Carers on their own are also welcome, as are people with dementia who are able to make their own way there. The café next meets on Thursday 3rd November 2016. Swim west Lothian Lessons Programme We now have three venues where we offer our Learn to Swim

Lessons. They are: James young High School - Friday afternoons from 1-4.30pm; Armadale Academy - Saturday morning 10.30-12.15 and Deans Community High School - Saturday mornings from 10.30-12.15. Classes to suit all abilities - we offer lessons for 49 weeks a year from preschool upwards to adult. We also do Rookie Lifeguard classes which have proved popular in the past. Aquanauts Livingston Swimming Club has spaces for beginners up to personal survival level. We teach at West Calder high school on a Monday evening and Inveralmon­d CHS on a Thursday evening. Livingston Cricket Club runs indoor practices for 6-9 year olds from 5pm to 6pm on a Wednesday, and practices for 10-14 year olds from 6-7pm on a Wednesday. Dementia Care volunteers urgently needed. Would you like to give a few hours voluntary time to work with people with dementia on either a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday at the Rosebery Centre in Livingston? The centre has over 200 stimulatin­g activities designed to provide motivation and stimulatio­n to our clients. It is known for its success in this area, however, in order to continue providing this level of service we urgently need more volunteers. We would be delighted to hear from you. SMART stands for Self Management and Recovery Training and aims to help individual­s gain control over their addictive behaviours through peer led mutual aid meetings. If you are trying to abstain from an addictive behaviour come along and join us at St. Johns Hospital (psychology dept.) on a Thursday evening from 6.15 p.m. to 8.00pm. You will be met with a warm welcome, tea or coffee and the opportunit­y to discuss and learn from issues for a healthy recovery. Please contact Police Scotland telephone number 101. Scout Group 29th Scout Group’s Beaver Scout section has spaces for both boys and girls aged between 6 and 8 years old. We meet on Wednesdays from 6.30 to 7.30 pm in Toronto Primary School and offer a wide range of fun games, crafts, outings, friendship, badges, awards and a chance to learn and try new things.
