Wins for Wolves

- Callum Carson

West Lothian Wolves’ under-16 boys had a terrific week as they clinched three wins from three fixtures.

The Division One side got the action underway on Saturday with a convincing 82-69 victory over Boroughmuir Blaze to climb to second in the table with an impressive 4-2 record.

Cammy Newall and Max Mortimer played well on their debuts as the 12-yearolds notched their first points for the club’s top under-16 team.

And the reserve side, who play in Division Three, scored their first victory of the season thanks to a 73-44 win against Fife Steel.

They followed that up the next day with an 82-34 victory against Boroughmuir Blaze in Grangemouth.

The double win sees them climb into fifth place with a 2- 2 record in their maiden campaign.

The senior men suffered their second league defeat of the season, losing 64-51 to Boroughmuir Blaze B, but they still sit second in the Division Two table with six points thanks to a 2-2 record.

The under-18 men scored a stunning 101-75 win at Boroughmuir to remain unbeaten after three games in Division Two.

And the under-18 women also defeated the Blaze as they scored their first win of the season 78-68.

The club host four games this weekend at Bathgate Academy.

The action begins at noon on Saturday with the under- 16 girls taking on the Tayside Musketeers before the under-18 women take on the same opposition.

The following day the under-18 men face Glasgow City in a Division Two clash with a 2.30pm tip-off. It is a match-up that features the two remaining unbeaten teams in the division. And the weekend’s games are rounded off with the senior men hosting Ayrshire Tornadoes in a National League Division Two game.
