Broxburn Athletic came out on the right end of an 11-goal thriller in their league clash away to Dundonald Bluebell to take the goal tally in the Brox’s 13 league and cup games this campaign to a stunning 73.

The game got off to the worst possible start for the visitors as the Superleagu­e new boys opened the scoring inside the first minute. Ben Anthony raced down the left wing and squared the ball across the box to Lewis McKenzie who fired home from close range in a sign of things to come throughout a pulsating 90 minutes of football.

Anthony almost set up a second for Dundonald but Paul Quinn shot wide on nine minutes.

Scott Richards levelled just a minute later when he received a pass from former Livingston full- back Mike Mampuya and slotted the ball home.

Nicholas Locke blasted wide after some neat play from Max Christie’s men. But the ‘Bell took the lead for a second time when Quinn scored from the spot five minutes later after Connor Wallace was ruled by the referee to have dragged down McKenzie.

Broxburn would, once again, drag themselves level when Locke rifled the ball home from outside the box.

He then missed a penalty on the half-hour mark, awarded after former Brox defender Calum Rarity needlessly pushed Richards as he went for the ball.

However, team-mate Craig Scott was able to bail him out as he gave the away side the lead for the first time in the contest with a thunderous effort from 30 yards that flew into the net.

And there was still time for another before the break as Broxburn made it 4-2 at half-time when Zander Miller scored the first of his three goals as he stroked home a penalty after a
