Café Connect Extra is for people who have dementia and their carers to meet and give each other support. The café runs on the first Wednesday of the month from 2.00pm to 3.30pm at Dedridge Baptist Church, Quentin Rise, Dedridge EH52 5LH. Everyone is welcome to come along.

Bra Bank Liz Howley is collecting unwanted wearable or new bras and new pants for girls and women for Smalls for All. Can you please hand them in to Sandra at Forestbank Community Centre and she will pass them on to Liz. Thanks to everyone who has handed some in already! Liz Howley is also a volunteer with a new service for Breast Cancer Care. She is part of a new team promoting “Breast

Health Awareness”. This service is provided by a team of volunteers and is called “Team B-Aware”. This involves a short 15 minute talk about Breast Health Awareness and is aimed at small groups in the community such Ladies Groups, Young Mums Groups, Church Groups, Occupation­al Health Groups, Health Week Promotion Groups, Parents Associatio­n Groups etc. The list is endless and any interested groups or businesses can ask for a volunteer to come and give a talk. Ladywell Work Club help yourself and others into work. A weekly dropin club will be available to jobseekers in Forestbank Community Centre in Ladywell. The aim of this new initiative is to help local unemployed residents find a new job by providing resources and profession­al support in the local area. You will influence the topics you want to know more about to help you find a job. You will also have the opportunit­y to share your experience­s with others and access support including CVs, completing applicatio­n forms, undertakin­g job search, or learning interview techniques and you will have access to the most up to date vacancies. Memory Café Newyearfie­ld meets first Thursday of the month, 2.15 -3.30pm at Newyearfie­ld Farm Community Centre, Hawk Brae, Livingston North. EH54 6AB. This friendly café welcomes people with dementia and their carers, where they can meet others in a similar situation for support and social contact whilst enjoying refreshmen­ts, friendly company and various activities. Carers on their own are also welcome, as are people with dementia who nare able to make their own way there. The café will meet on 1st December 2016.

Ladywell Playgroup currently has vacancies for children from 2yrs, Playgroup operates Monday-Friday 9.15a.m-11.15a.m at a cost of £17.00 per week, this includes a healthy snack. We are able to offer funded places to eligible 2-year olds as part of the preschool provision for 2-year -olds.
