Friendship Café, Christmas tea on Thursday December 8th 2016 from 1.45 to 4.00pm Entertainm­ent will be by Billy Black. So come along and have a good time having a sing along or you can bring your dancing shoes if you want to dance, we just have a really friendly get together with tea and cakes etc. Everyone is most welcome, so come along and have “A Merry start to your Christmas”

Christmas Festival Tuesday December 13th from 3.30 to 7.00pm. The festival is being organised by the West Calder community centre Youth group. The following stalls and events will be available for your enjoyment; Jewellery, Stella & dot, Crafts Tombola, Face painting, Candy floss, Youth forum – candy floss, Kids rides & shooting, hair accessorie­s, angel keepsakes, cakes, Arts & crafts, Coffee & waffles, Whisky sauce and cheese, Burger van and Santa. Photo momentous. So come along and have a great time, the festival starts after school so come on parents and grandparen­ts bring the kids along for a really fun time. Look forward to seeing you there! Friendship Café Meets on the third Thursday each month. The café meets in West Calder Community Centre from 1.30 to 3.30pm. Raffle tickets cost £1 per strip and tea/coffee plus a biscuit or two costs 50p. So please come along and bring your friends. Everyone is welcome.

Tuesday Club in Stewart Court is at 2pm every Tuesday with entertainm­ent followed by afternoon tea at a cost of £1.50 The Club is open to anyone in the Community.

Rosebery Centre (a day centre for people with dementia) - formerly based in Ladywell, Livingston has now moved to Polbeth/Harwood church in Polbeth. The centre is open 3 days a week -Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday. There are two staff members - Manager Anne Marson and Assistant Manager Richard Fish. We always on the lookout for new volunteers. Rehearsals for the evening of Christmas Music (on Friday 16th December) have now started and all singers are welcome on Wednesday evenings in the church at 7 pm.

Christmas Candy Bar Saturday 3rd December in the West Kirk Hall. Tickets for lunch are available from Margaret Greenhorn (871139). There are two sittings - 11.45am and 1pm - and tickets must be obtained in advance. The cost is £8 for adults and £4 for 12 years and under. The Christmas lunch includes homemade soup, turkey and trimmings and a choice of sweets including Christmas pudding with coffee and mints follow. Quiche is the vegetarian option. Morning coffee will be served from 10am, finishing about 11.15am to allow time to set the tables for lunch at 11.45am. The stalls will include the ever popular cake and candy, handmade gifts, a hamper to be won, tombola, raffle and other ideas to help make it a successful and enjoyable day. Fauldhouse and Breich Valley Fairtrade Group need your help. Do you live, work, worship or have community involvemen­t in the area? Do you have an interest in Fairtrade? The group needs new members to keep going. We don’t meet very often, only when we need to, and keep in touch by email. We are also collecting foreign and obsolete coins and banknotes. You may have some of these around your home which are of no use to you.
