Whitburn Jack and the Beanstalk It’s panto time! Join the cast of ACE and get warmed up for the Christmas season with a family friendly panto. The show runs from Thursday 1st December to Saturday 3rd December at Whitburn Academy. Tickets are priced at £7 for adults and £5 for concession­s and there’s a cracking value family ticket available too at just £20. Scout post Whitburn Scout Group will once again be running its Christmas card delivery service. This will be the 31st year of the service. Cards can be posted at the following shops from Monday 28 November: Hairport Hair Studio, East Whitburn; Rashid Bros, Murraysgat­e; Shopsmart, East Main St; Mia’s Card Shop, West Main St; Premier Store (Mr Singh), East Main Street; Glenmore Minimarket, Blaeberryh­ill Road; and Boots the Chemist, West Main Street. The last day for posting will be the end of trading on Saturday 17 December. The cost remains 20p per card. Deliveries will take place Saturday and Sunday afternoons to Whitburn, East Whitburn and Redmill ONLY. Please ensure all cards are properly addressed with a full name, house number and street. Whitburn Juniors Football Social Club On Saturday the 3rd the club will host the talented pairing of Alana Wilson and David Lee. Every Saturday hosts Saturday Night Bingo: eyes down 10pm. The club will also have live performanc­e acts each Saturday night. Monday hosts a regular Bingo Night with eyes down at 7pm. There is also a Domino Tournament every Friday evening at 10pm. Armadale Grace Harris harrisg14@gmail.com Fundraisin­g Event As part of a project, a further group of senior students at Armadale Academy are holding a charity fund raising pie pea and prize bingo night in Armadale Parish Church Hall on Monday 5 December with doors opening at 6.30pm and eyes down at 7pm. All the proceeds of the evening will be donated to Toll Gate House, Armadale. Tickets are on sale now priced £1.50 or come along and pay at the door. Please support this worthy event. All welcome. Friendship Group the bus for the outing to Dobbies on Monday 5 December will leave from the former library at 12.45pm and pick up at the usual points. Armadale Shed Wood turning has been in full swing this week with new members having a try and enjoying the experience, A decorative flower made in metal for the kissing gates is planned and put into practice. Armadale Shed is getting busy with plenty of tea and banter with members in between individual projects, anyone interested should come along where they will be warmly welcomed. Armadale Parish Church Sunday services are held at 11am and the Sunday School meet at this time also. Evening Services are held on the first Sunday of the month at 6.30pm. The morning service on Sunday 4 December is an All Age and Gift Service and a warm welcome is extended to everyone. Vestry hour takes place in the Manse on Thursday evenings from 7pm-8pm. Armadale Gala Committee have chosen Grace Harris as crowner for the 2017 celebratio­ns. Mrs Harris will crown Queen-elect Grace Hardie at Armadale Academy on 17th June next year. Committee President, Stuart Borrowman said “Grace will be a very popular choice as crowner. She has worked hard and selflessly, most often behind the scenes, in her church and other organisati­ons over many years. Grace is one of those wonderful people in Armadale who make the town tick. We’re delighted she has accepted our invitation.”
