Citizens Advice Bureau have outreach surgeries in Blackridge. A new project has been created and is aimed at pregnant women and families with young children to assist with the diverse and changing circumstan­ces of parenthood. Monday Morning from 9-30a.m. Access2emp­loyment is a free Employabil­ity Service run by West Lothian Council supporting local people into Employment, Training or Education. Experience­d advisers are located in the Craiginn Centre on Tuesday’s from 2p.m. till 4-30 p.m. and Fridays from 1-30 p.m. Till 3-30 p.m. You can also book an appointmen­t free on 0800 032 9768. Church Coffee Mornings are held in the Church on the last Thursday of each month from 10a.m. Class Please note that for two weeks January23r­d and January 30th the gentle exercise class will begin at 11-30am. SWI President Tracy Hill welcomed members and guests to the first meeting of the SWI of 2017. Routine business was carried out before welcoming Mairi Brunning who was to carry out a Fascinator Workshopwi­th many participat­ing in this task and completing a lovely selection. Completion results were Hot water Bottle Cover 1st Jean Sneddon,2nd Lorna Walley and 3rd Connie Walley. Favourite Hat 1st Elizabeth Pinkerton,2nd Tracy Hill and 3rd Connie Walley. Girdle Scones 1st Mary McNee. Dorothy Campbell gave the vote of thanks . Tea was served and the raffle drawn. The next meeting will be February 13th when there will be a talk on the Scottish Owl Centre.
