‘Open Evening’ on Monday 30th January at 7:30pm in the Glenalmond Hall, Main Street, Mid Calder. Please come along and have a go at playing a tune on the handbells. No previous musical experience necessary. All will be made very welcome. Mid Calder Community Council will hold their next meeting at 7.30pm on Thursday 9th February in the Institute Hall. All interested parties welcome. Mid Calder Bowling Club Annual General Meeting will be held in the Club House, School Lane, Mid Calder, on Sunday 28th February 2017 at 2pm. LEGO & K’NEX Clubs are now available at the Glenalmond Hall on Wednesday evenings. Young Engineers offers educationa­l classes for children aged 4 to 11 to teach them about Science, Technology, Engineerin­g & Maths through the use of structured lessons and special LEGO kits. Enjoy an energetic live set from local lads 5 Strings, all the traditiona­l Scottish & Tartan Army favourites from Robert Robertson & Ted Christophe­r, before dancing the night away to our live ceilidh band. Mid Calder Gala Committee are holding a Race Night in the Black Bull Inn, Mid Calder on Saturday 28th January 2017 at 7pm. Enjoy an evening with the ponies, greyhounds and pigs. Cheer on your horse, enjoy the buffet and a wee disco afterwards. Tickets £10 includes free entry to raffle, buffet and disco. Bets are £1 each. Fancy owning a horse on the night? Fairtrade Cafe welcomes anyone who would like to join us on a Tuesday morning between 10am and 12 noon in the Glenalmond Hall where home baking is on sale and all funds raised go to street children of Peru c/o the Vine Trust. Come along and help us to promote fair trade and make new friends. The Fair Trade café is run by the Kirk of Calder.

Clothing bank is situated to the front of the Glenalmond Hall. Please bring any good quality clean clothes, belts, paired shoes, ties, handbags (in a bag) and place in the recycling bank.
