Drop in to The Green Room each weekday morning for a cup of tea or coffee and a chat between 9-1pm. The session is supported by a local volunteer. cosy and warm so feel free to pop in and find out what is happening in the local community. Kirknewton Youth Club is a weekly group for S1-S6 young people. The group is supported by a team of local volunteers and the Kirknewton Community Developmen­t Trust Youth and Volunteer Coordinato­r who provide fun and engaging activities for the young people of the village. So far the group has done a card trick workshop, cookery sessions and pizza night! Encourage your child along each Friday evening from 6-8pm, £1 in the Green Room

Playgroup is held in the Village Hall on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9-11.15am during term time, cost £5 per child. We are a happy, friendly and safe drop off playgroup for children aged 2-4 and a half.

Rainbows Girls aged 5-7 are welcome to come along to Kirknewton Village Hall every Wednesday during term times between 5pm and 6.15pm. We have lots of fun doing different crafts, playing all sorts of games, learning new things, working towards special Girl Guiding badges and there is always lots of laughing going on. Rainbows always have a long waiting list so if you are interested in your child joining in the fun please don’t wait till they are 5 to ask to join. Contact Gill on 0781688017­5 or 883261.

Brownies is for girls aged 7-10 and takes place after Rainbows on a Wednesday in the village hall 6.30-8pm during term times. We are similar to Rainbows but aim it at the slightly older age group. Games, crafts, badges, outings and weekends away at Brownie Camp are just a few of the exciting things the girls get up to when at Brownies. Through this action-packed programme, girls can build confidence by developing new skills, learning about the wider community, finding out about different cultures and getting involved with global issues like the environmen­t and endangered species. Kirknewton Walkers meet every Wednesday at 7pm. outside the Park entrance for a one and a half to two hours walk. For all abilities. Walking from Kirknewton to wherever the mood take us.
