Big plans at Deans
Consultation event soon
Members of the public are being invited to have their say on plans which are aimed at improving the Deans South housing estate.
Planning permission has already been granted for parts of the estate to be redeveloped for housing with 117 new council houses currently planned to be built there.
And West Lothian Council now intends to submit a planning application in principle for housing development for those parts of the estate which do not yet have the benefit of planning permission.
A public consultation open day on housing development proposals on land at Deans South is being held on Thursday, February 16, between 2pm and 8pm at Livingston Station Community Education Centre.
Council representatives will be available to discuss the site, the emerging proposals and will also respond to any queries or comments on the day.
The event is open to members of the public who are invited to drop in to hear more about the proposals or to make their views known in advance of the submission of a planning application.
Alistair Shaw, the council’s head of Housing, Customer and Building Services explained: “The council is committed to developing Deans South and improving the local community.
“We look forward to engaging with members of the public on our proposals.
“This is an opportunity for members of the public to hear about the plans, ask any questions and have their say on the proposals before plans are submitted.
“We would welcome any feedback on the proposals and look forward to meeting with those who would like to hear more about our plans or ask any questions.”
Comments on the proposal application notice can be left at the event or by email/postal return before March 16.
