Win saw Livi at their very best

-

Sometimes things just click in football and last weekend at Airdrie, boy, did things click?

The game really couldn’t have been any better if you are a Livi fan as we extended our lead to 12 points after a 4-0 win over Airdrieonians.

The record books were on our side with Livi having won 11 of the last 12 meetings with Airdrie.

Four goals scored, a third clean sheet in four games and goal of the season contenders from Sean Crighton and Danny Mullen made for an enjoyable afternoon.

We were back to our best - the form we saw at the start of the season as we swept teams aside with ease.

There wasn’t a fault in our team, there was a swagger about us. They were there to make a point – and they did just that.

It was a terrific display and the fans lapped it up and got right behind the team and management.

There is plenty to admire about this young Livi team. It’s a close group who give their all in every game. Sometimes things don’t quite work out, but when it does this team can be an exciting watch and hopefully we see a lot of these players signed up for next season.

Even more pleasing was the impact we had from the substitutes.

When players like Nicky Cadden, Josh Mullin and Raffa De Vita can’t get into the starting 11, you know how strong a team we have.

Add to that the likes of Jordan Sinclair, Matthew Knox and Nikolay Todorov and you can argue that this is the strongest Livi squad in years.

Next up is a home clash against an improving Stenhousemuir side on Saturday. Patience will be key to banking another three points that will go a long way to sealing our return to the Championship, especially with title rivals Alloa and Airdrie clashing.

Let’s continue with the positivity, get right behind the team and be that 12th man.
