Comedy fans are in for a treat at Howden Park Centre on March 17.

The centre will host a show featuring some of the UK’s best talent, featuring two top comedians and one experienced compère.

It will feature Iain Stirling, Hayel Ellis and compère of the show, Carl Donnelly.

Iain Stirling is a well-known face on television, and also the recognisable, cheeky voice of ‘Love Island’, adding to a list of multiple credits including performing on ‘Russell Howard’s Good News’, ‘Sweat the Small Stuff’ and ‘The Josh Widdicombe Show’ (XFM).

Iain burst onto the comedy scene whilst studying for a Law degree at Edinburgh University, reaching the finals of both the Paramount Funniest Student competition (2009), and the Chortle Student

Comedian of the Year competition (2009) and has since performed consecutive sold out and acclaimed shows, ‘Happy To Be The Clown?’ (2012), ‘Iain Stirling At Home’ (2013), ‘Everything’

(2014), ‘Touchy Feely’ (2015), ‘Onwards!’ (2016) at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Manchester comedian and former regular contributor to XFM’s breakfast show, Hayley Ellis has gone from strength to strength since she began performing.

A regular MC at gigs around the country, Hayley’s natural warmth and charm make her virtually impossible to dislike, something which has become evident in her success in new act competitions throughout the UK.

Hayley has also become a regular sight gag contributor for the ‘Russell Howard’s Good News’ television programme and has appeared on MTV’s ‘Why aye love Geordie Shore’ and ‘Comedy Set Lists’ for Virgin television.

She can also sometimes be heard on Absolute Radio and her sketches and jokes have appeared on Radio 4’s ‘Newsjack’.

In 2016 Hayley performed at the Edinburgh Festival with her second solo show ‘Fomo’

Compère of the show, Carl Donnelly started performing stand-up in 2005 and quickly established himself as one of the UK’s most exciting comedians.

His conversational, silly sense of humour saw him win a host of awards (Chortle Best Newcomer 2007, Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year 2007 among others) and become a regular at all of the finest comedy clubs in the UK and Ireland.

In 2009, Carl performed his debut solo show ‘Relax Everyone, it’s Carl Donnelly!’ at the Edinburgh Fringe for which he was nominated for the Edinburgh Comedy Award for Best Newcomer.

Since then, Carl has returned to Edinburgh with further solo shows after his nomination in 2013 for the Fosters Comedy Award.

Carl has also appeared on various TV shows including ‘Mock The Week’, ‘Russell Howard’s Stand Up Central’, Dave’s ‘One Night Stand’, ‘Stand Up for the Week’ and ‘Russell Howard’s Good News’.

The show will take place on Friday, March 17, at 8pm. It is suitable for age 16+ due to adult content and strong language

Tickets priced £14 are avaialbel from Howden Park Centre’s box office on 01506 777666.
