Let’s bounce back from loss

-

It was a disappointing end to a bruising week in our quest for the League One title.

Once again, it was those pesky Fifers who halted our good run of form. East Fife have certainly had our number this season and yet again we just couldn’t find a way through and lost 1-0.

With news coming through that Alloa had won a fourth game in a row, the gap at the top now sits at seven points with nine games remaining.

Let’s get things straight though, I will criticise both the team and the management if they get things wrong but, despite the defeat, it was a good performance so I can’t moan about it.

We hammered East Fife and did everything we possibly could but unfortunately the football gods were against us. An inspired goalkeeping display, a determined defence and the woodwork being hit twice, it just wasn’t our day.

Of course that inevitable sucker punch was going to come at the end and one of very few attacks by the away side resulted in the only goal in what was an extremely frustrating afternoon for the home fans.

We have played a lot worse this season and grabbed all three points but on Saturday luck deserted us and sometimes you just have to accept it and move on. That’s exactly what we have to do.

Next up is a tricky trip to Stranraer. They are now a much improved side after a change in manager and have fought their way off the bottom of the table and are unbeaten in seven league games. This will no doubt prove to be another tough game.

Good teams find a way to bounce back from disappointments and it’s what we’ve done many times this season.

Let’s take some of that frustration from last weekend into this game and use it to our advantage by picking up a win in what could be a massive day in the title race.
