Volunteer Drivers Wanted to help older people get to local groups. If you would like to help an older person access local groups such as Singing for Health, the Cyrenians Befriending Service would love to hear from you. The Befriending Service helps alleviate loneliness and isolation in older people. One of the ways we do this is by assisting people to get out and about in their community. Volunteer drivers are urgently required in the Livingston area. Expenses are reimbursed at 45p per mile. Book your session by contacting Jorden Smith 01506 774066. 13th West Lothian Scout Group Beavers are aged from 6 to 8 years old and meet on Tuesdays from 6.30 to 7.30pm. The Cubs are from 8 to 10 years old and meet on Thursday night from 6.30 till 8.00pm. The Scouts are from 10 to 14 and meet on Thursday nights from 7.00 till 9.00pm. We meet in Deans Community Centre on both nights. We are also looking for a new leader, or, you can just be a parent helper. Livingston station Playgroup offers play sessions, where children can develop and learn at their own pace. We have part/full time places available, as well as funded places too. Girls from primary 1-7 will be made welcome. We are also looking for volunteers to help support our team. We encourage the girls in craft, games, fun. Livingston True Blues Flute Band we are recruiting members for fluters to drummers experienced or unexperienced all welcome. We practice on a Monday evening from 7pm till 9pm in Carmondean Community Centre (north hall) contact Chris on 07902494953 Volunteers Urgently Needed - Dementia Care would you like to give a few hours voluntary time to work with people with dementia on either a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday at the Rosebery Centre in Livingston? The centre has over 200 stimulating activities designed to provide motivation and stimulation to our clients, It is known for its success in this area however, in order to continue providing this level of service we urgently need more volunteers. Masonic Hall The Masonic Hall, 3 Nellburn Road, Deans, Livingston is available to hire most Saturdays at a reasonable cost. The hall can hold 84 with a good size dance floor and a separate room for a Buffet. If you wish we can supply caterers for your buffet and a Disco or a live band at very reasonable cost. School Drop-In to our Crèche - The under 5’s Crèche is available for preschool children of all ages. We have Drop-In session where you can come along and stay with your child. We offer a wide variety of new and stimulating experiences. We also have crèche sessions where you can leave your child 2 - 3 hours if you need a little ‘me’ time or have an appointment or need to do some shopping without your child. Deans Community High School Sports and Leisure - The pool now operates on a session basis please see our website for availability, prices and session times. Copies of our current timetables for swimming, fitness room and sauna can be found in the relevant pages at foot of the web page. There are also fun sessions available with inflatables.
