West Lothian Courier

A win and a loss

-

It was a mixed weekend for Livingston Rugby Club’s youth teams with a fine victory for the S1 side but defeat for the under-15s.

The S1 side took on Biggar in a friendly at Almond Park and were able to score 11 tries in a comprehensive win.

The team showed excellent tackling and handling as they put on a great display.

Finlay Anderson, Dean Kinghorn, Joshua de Mora, Aaron Steel (pictured) and Sean Burns all scored tries with Burns and Jamie Pollock adding the conversions.

The news wasn’t as good for the under-15 boys, though, as they lost out 36-5 to Biggar.

Despite a promising first half and some decent rugby played by Livi, they were unable to make it count on the scoreboard with Angus Paterson grabbing his team’s only try.

There are two games for the club’s youth section this weekend with the under-16 boys facing Currie in an Edinburgh and District Regional Cup.

Meanwhile, Livi’s under-15 girls have joined forces with Linlithgow to form West Lothian under-15 girls and they take on Stirling County in the Scottish Rugby Clubs quarter-finals.

Livingston Rugby Club are always looking to add to their squads at all ages.
