-

Lothian Running Club’s Sarah Inglis’recent fine vein of form continued with an outstanding run in the EDP Lisbon Half Marathon.

In what was only her second competitive race over the distance, her time of 1:14.51 placed her 16th overall and first British finisher in the women’s race, which attracts many of the leading endurance runners from around the globe.

On home soil, the blue vests were out in force with 14 club members tackling the Alloa Half Marathon with Josh Dack’s time of 1:16.53 being the fastest of the LRC contingent.

John Malcolm was the sole club member to contest the Criffel Hill Race on Sunday where he finished in 64th place in 1:09.52 while Shona Young and her brother Paul took part in the Loch Katrine Marathon on the same day.

Shona, who had been the first female runner home at the Livingston parkrun the day before, covered the course in a little over three-and-a-half hours with Paul a couple of minutes.

Mhairi Inglis was first female home at the Strathclyde parkrun and scored a new personal best.
