Miller treble lifts Brox

- Broxburn Athletic ... 5 Camelon ................. 0

Broxburn Athletic claimed the points after knocking five past Camelon in a second half to remember for the hosts at Albyn Park.

Chances were few and far between for either side in the first half and it was no real surprise that the deadlock hadn’t been broken before the interval.

However, Athletic did look to be the more attacking side as they hit the crossbar and that showed after the break with a scintillating display.

Max Christie’s men took the lead in the 52nd minute when Craig Scott was able to prod home from close range and that set the wheels in motion for a dominant display as the Burn grabbed their largest home win of the campaign.

Kieran Anderson doubled his side’s lead on the hour mark with a stunning 30-yard free-kick that gave his team some breathing space.

Zander Miller then stole the show with an 11-minute hat-trick, grabbing his first in the 75th minute before adding to his tally seven minutes later.

The game was done and dusted by this point but Camelon would end the game with 10 men as Andrew Kay was shown his second yellow.

There was still time for the hosts to make their numerical advantage count as, with four minutes left on the clock, Miller completed his treble.

The victory keeps Broxburn in sixth place, well ahead of Linlithgow Rose, in the race to be West Lothian’s top side this term.

They make the trip east to take on Musselburgh Athletic on Saturday hoping to gain revenge for a 5-1 defeat the Olivebank side inflicted on them when they met earlier in the campaign.
