Busy calendar for Chamber

- Linda Scott

As Chief Executive of West Lothian Chamber of Commerce, and being on the board of Scottish Chambers I am fortunate to be able to meet people from all walks of life and realise we are always learning from each other.

Over the last month, I have had the pleasure – while wearing my Scottish Chambers hat – of being involved with the announcement of support from the Scottish Government for the Chamber Network to develop more export opportunities for SMEs, with particular focus on the first-time exporters. So, as they say, watch this space.

Our new Export Support Club is to be launched in early summer but, in the meantime, if you need any help or advice please get in touch with the West Lothian Chamber office.

Brexit is the word on most people’s lips these days, so we will be planning an event around this topic in the coming months. We will be looking to offer a little bit of clarity as to what may happen in the coming years but, more importantly, we will be looking to find out what support you are looking for: is there a message you want me to take to Scottish Government?

On a lighter note, have you booked your place at our Key Note Dinner on May 11 at Houston House Hotel? My great friend, the legendary Willie Henderson ex-Rangers winger – still the youngest player ever to play for Scotland – is our guest speaker.

Willie has many great stories to tells so this is not an event to miss.

The Chamber run various events, often in partnership with other business support bodies, with full details available at
