Elect a strong voice with commitment to the future
This year’s local government election in West Lothian is vitally important. Voters will have a clear choice –electing strong local voices who will focus all their energy on improving local services or voting to go back to the divisions of the past.
When Conservative councillors are elected we make the following pledges.
We will limit any rise in council tax to no more than the rate of inflation for the next council term.
We will review the council house allocation policy which at present is unfair to new prospective tenants.
We will review and endeavour to reinstate funding for local bus services across the Ward particularly in the traditional town centres. This will make a contribution to reducing high street and town centre air pollution and congestion.
We will work with the 600 plus voluntary organisations, day care centres and NHS Lothian to help provide coordinated care for the elderly and those who require additional help.
We pledge to enhance the partnerships between schools, employers, West Lothian College and other further education establishments.
We will support the increase of nursery provision across west Lothian by working with all early years providers.
We say no to a second independence referendum. We wish to spend the next term on the Council concentrating on providing essential services to our communities.
A vote in May for the Scottish Conservative and Unionist candidate will help strengthen that message in your own community, in all of West Lothian and across Scotland.
