Champions of the people in every way
Every Liberal Democrat councillor you elect in West Lothian will be a hard-working champion for their community. They will keep in touch with regular newsletters and will do their best to encourage a can-do attitude in the council.
Councils are powerful organisations and should use the clout that they have to improve people’s lives, tackle poverty and inequality and ensure that everyone has access to the care and support that they need.
Liberal Democrat priorities for West Lothian Council are to ensure that all teachers receive training in autism so that they understand best how to support their pupils and expand low cost housing options, particularly for young people.
To provide quick, effective, local mental health support to all who need it. There is a particular issue with young people transitioning to adult services. They are not being properly supported.

Support the provision of fair and affordable banking, insurance and financial services, and the expansion of credit unions and advice services.
