Aim is healthier and happier places to live
Over the past few terms, West Lothian Council has been run by Labour or SNP administrations and it is clear residents across the council area aren’t entirely satisfied as the Council tries to juggle delivering good quality services whilst reducing spending.
We have spoken to people who live and work in West Lothian and they really care about our their local services and know our council could do a much better job of protecting these, investing for the future and making our communities better, healthier and happier places for people to live.
A vote for the Scottish Green Party is a vote to bring new ideas into the council, to elect councillors willing to challenge the status quo if necessary. The record of our councillors in Edinburgh over the past five years has been excellent, working squarely for the community and on local issues.
In West Lothian we can see where there are potential improvements, and our candidates have a range of experience which can only benefit the council.
The Greens will revitalise local democracy, giving people more of a say about how council money is spent and decisions made. We’ll work to make accessing services more straightforward, challenge the delivery of education and social care, aim to create better quality and more efficient council housing, better spaces for the community and ensure that the needs of the community and constituents are at the heart of all decisions.
