Working in the best interests of our town

-

Jim Walker says:“Today I ask for your support in electing me to serve as the independent councillor for the Bathgate ward on West Lothian Council.

“Having been born and lived all my life in Bathgate I am acutely aware of the needs of the town and more importantly the needs of those who reside in the town.

“I have had the privilege of having served as a councillor for 38 years and I am deeply involved in the life of the community having served on Bathgate Procession Committee for 55 years, a founder member of the Highland Games, president of Bathgate Thistle FC and president of Newland Concert Brass Band.

“I also served on other organisations including Bathgate Town Centre Management Committee, Enterprising Bathgate and on the board of Regal Community Theatre.

“If elected I will continue to make myself readily available by holding regular weekly surgeries at times convenient to the electorate and continue to work closely with the various other organisations within the town.

“Being an independent councillor will allow me to put the needs of Bathgate first as I firmly believe that a councillor should serve the community honestly and at all times put the interests of the electorate first.

“Your support will allow me to continue working in the best interests of Bathgate.”
