Scottish music legends set to perform

One of Scotland’s most successful singers is set to return to West Lothian this summer.

Barbara Dickson, accompanie­d by acclaimed pianist Nick Holland, will perform a special acoustic set exploring her catalogue of songs at an intimate level. The pair let the songs take‘centre stage’as they perform a wonderful range of material drawing on her folk roots, contempora­ry greats and some of her classic hits. One of UK’s best-loved performers Barbara has been awarded an OBE for her services to music and drama, won two Olivier Awards for Best Actress, and is Scotland’s best-selling female album artist. Her support act will be Anthony Toner. Barbara will perform at Howden Park Centre in Livingston on Friday, July 21, at 7.30pm. Tickets are £26 or £24 for concession­s. Also set to perform in Livingston is one of Scotland’s finest singer-songwriter­s.

Dougie MacLean is internatio­nally renowned for his song‘Caledonia’, music from the Hollywood blockbuste­r ‘Last of the Mohicans’and inspired performanc­es, including his part in the closing ceremony of the Commonweal­th Games in Glasgow, which was viewed by over one billion people worldwide. Dougie’s songs have been covered by Paolo Nutini, Amy MacDonald, Ronan Keating, Mary Black and many other top performers. He has received two prestigiou­s Tartan Clef Awards, a place in the Scottish Music Hall of Fame, a Lifetime Achievemen­t Award from BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards and an OBE.

He will perform at Howden Park Centre in Livingston on Friday, August 4. Tickets are £23 or £21 for concession­s.
