Strong voices needed now at Westminster to protect NHS
I have been very proud to be your MP at Westminster for the last two years, representing the people I have grown up alongside.
I was born and brought up here in Livingston.
My family were proudly part of West Lothian’s mining community and I learned from them strong beliefs in a fairer and more equal society. After secondary school in Broxburn I graduated from the University of Stirling and worked in different sectors, including national television, the US Consulate in Edinburgh and managing Alex Salmond’s constituency office.
Before I was elected I spent three years in the oil, gas and energy sector.
Since taking office my team and I have responded to more than 80,000 emails and dealt with thousands of cases on behalf of the people of the Livingston constituency.
We have helped on issues such as housing, business and industry, social services and social care, immigration, tax credits, job cuts at HMRC, child maintenance, charitable work and much, much more.
In the last two years my SNP colleagues and I have also made strong contributions in Westminster on your behalf.
We have also seen at close quarters how ruthless this Conservative administration is, how little it understands or cares about how we want to do things in Scotland and how determined it is to undermine institutions like the NHS and social care which are so important to us.
This election is crucial to our future and I’m asking for your vote again so I can continue to make sure Livingston and Scotland have strong voices at Westminster.
