Bathgate Ladies cash-in

40 YEARS AGO..

Members of the Bathgate Ladies Circle donated a cheque to help people suffering from cancer in 1977.

The cheque - for £260 - was presented by Nan Smith, chairman of the organisation, to Mr C McKenzie of the Cancer Research campaign at the circle’s annual general meeting, held in the Fairway.

The club also picked its office bearers at the meeting, who were unveiled as Mary Bruce (chair), Joan Houston (vice chairman), Pam Kenny (secretary) and Roberta Moore (treasurer).
