Academy U13 champions are invincible

Linlithgow Academy won the Under 13s West Lothian School Football league after going the whole season undefeated.

In a closely contested campaign Linlithgow faced St Margaret’s Academy in a league decider in the last game of the season with both teams unbeaten before kick-off. Linlithgow started the sharpest and were 3-0 up within the first 10 minutes.

Stewart Graham opened the scoring followed by a Murray Thomas hat trick.

St Margaret’s hit back before half time through Kieran Leonard to make it 4-1.

Into the second half and Adam Laidlaw and Harry McMartin were controlling the game in the midfield area.

Linlithgow were quickly on the hunt for goals once more and within minutes of the restart they had scored their 5th and 6th.

There was no let up as St Margaret’s struggled to keep a team on the pitch through injuries and Linlithgow made it 7 through an own goal. In the closing minutes of the game Linlithgow exerted their dominance with Ben Ramsay making it eight and Robbie Hamilton finishing the scoring to make it 9-1.

Linlithgow were deserved winners on the day and over the course of the season.
