Sons of Wallace Armadale Sons of Wallace have organised a bus leaving from the Highlander Hotel at 3pm on Saturday 10 June for the Scotland vs England match. Anyone wishing to put their name down for a seat should contact the pub on 01501 731371 or via the facebook page. Seats are free to members of the club, £10 for Adults and £5 for children. Armadale Bowling Club This year marks the Bowling Club’s 150th year and the club always welcomes new members. The mixed pairs will take place on Sunday 28 May and names are required for 1pm on the day. The function suite is available for private hire and informatio­n can be obtained from the club. Bingo for members and friends takes place on Wednesdays at 8pm and Saturdays at 7.30pm. The treasure chest draw also takes place on Saturdays and Saturday 13 May’s winner was J Gibson who picked the correct key to open the chest. On Saturday 20 May J Gray’s number was drawn but the correct key was not picked to open the chest. Next week’s prize money is £100.00. On Saturday 3 June the guest artiste will be Craig Niven. A Karaoke will take place on Sunday 4 June between 7pm-11pm with every singer taking part being entered into a prize draw. Armadale Thistle AGM takes place on Sunday 28 May in the clubhouse hospitalit­y room at the Volunteer Park at 12 noon. Sunday 21 May lottery draw numbers were 2, 6, 19, 20. The player of the year awards and cabaret evening will take place on 10 June in the Cavalier. Tickets priced £5.00 are available from Committee members and the evening begins at 7.30pm. Boys Brigade The 2nd Armadale Boys Brigade were host to the West Lothian Battalion on Friday 12 May in Armadale Parish Church. This was the end of Session Service 2017, Celebratin­g 50 years of West Lothian Battalion. The service was a very impressive and uplifting service and it was great to see many of the 2nd Armadale Boys Brigade along with boys from many other companies receiving Gold Awards. Members of 2nd Linlithgow, 5th Livingston, 9th Livingston and 1st Whitburn companies received Queen’s Men awards. Overall awards were also presented. Well done everyone. Following the service, tea and fellowship was shared in the hall. The 2nd Armadale Boys Brigade celebrate their 50th Anniversar­y later this year and meet a Thursday in Armadale Parish Church hall and it would be great to see existing brigaders and any boys who would be interested in joining the Brigade. The Anchors for (P2-P3’s) meet from 5.45pm-6.45pm and the Junior Section for (P4/P5/P6’s) meet from 6.45pm-8.15pm. Come along and enrol and meet new friends and have fun. 2nd Armadale Rainbow Guides Are looking for new recruits and meet every Tuesday night in Armadale Community Centre from 6.30pm - 7.30pm. Network Junior Choir Following a very successful start they now have spaces available for Primary 4 to S4 boys and girls to sing, act, perform and raise money for charity and meet every Thursday in Armadale Parish Church Hall from 3.15pm-4.30pm so why not come along and join this very lively choir.
