The question at this election is – who is best placed to defend Scotland from the Tory assault on Scottish jobs and workers’ rights?

The Tories cannot be trusted to stand up for working families. This has been all too clear in their planned removal of HMRC jobs locally, including jobs at their Bathgate office.

Upon re-election, I will continue to stand up for them and plead their case.

Brexit represents a great threat presently hanging over businesses. We are committed to protecting Scotland’s place in the European Single Market, and in so doing saving 80,000 Scottish jobs. It is outrageous that the Tories have refused to make the largest sectoral employer in our constituency, the oil and gas industry, a priority for Brexit negotiations.

Working alongside my SNP colleagues, I am determined to be a strong voice for workers’rights. We will press the UK Government to establish a Fair Work Commission, ban exploitative zero-hours contracts, abolish employment tribunal fees, exclude businesses involved in blacklisting from public contracts, and repeal the Tory Trade Union Act, which is a direct attack on trade unions and workers’rights.

Now, more than ever, it is vital that Scotland has strong SNP voices standing up to the Tories in Westminster. A vote for the SNP is a vote for a strong team of SNP MPs who will stand up to the Tories, defend Scottish jobs, protect our businesses, and provide a strong voice for all working families in Scotland.
