Annual General Meeting Forestbank Community Centre Management Committee are holding their Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 28th June at 7.00p.m.
Bra Bank Liz Howley continues to collect Bras for Charity and, ultimately, Third World Countries, where they will be put to good use. Please hand them in to Forestbank Community Education Centre, Forestbank, Ladywell, Livingston. Thank you for your continued support. It is always amazing that these Bras just keep on coming. Also, Liz will take donations of new “Ladies/Children’s Pants” which she will hand on to the charity “Smalls for All.” All sizes from Children’s aged 2 years upwards to any size Ladies Pants. Once again, these items will be passed on to very deserving causes in Africa where, having a pair of pants to wear can mean the world of difference to these women and girls.
Salvation Army Hall Community Cafe at The Salvation Army in Howden is back! Come along on Tuesdays 11-2 (school term only). Enjoy fresh food at great prices. Ladywell Playgroup currently has vacancies for children from 2yrs, Playgroup operates Monday-Friday 9.15a.m-11.15a.m at a cost of £17.00 per week, which includes a healthy snack. We are able to offer funded places to eligible 2 year olds as part of the preschool provision for 2yr olds. Ladywell Fun Day takes place on Sunday 11th June, 11.00am– 2.00pm in the grounds of Harrysmuir Primary School. There will be Bouncy castles, rides, kids toy stall, tombola, bottle stall, footie shoot out, BBQ, refreshments, ice creams to name a few. We would like to ask local businesses to come along on the day to sell their goods or help support the event. If you have anything you would like to sell or offer please feel free to contact Karen on 01506 434501. We will be having a car boot section this year and a space can be booked at the cost of £5 (unfortunately the school cannot supply tables).

Charity Shop Braid House Day Centre, Labrador Avenue, Howden, Livingston EH54 6BU has opened a ‘Little Charity Shop’ within the Day Centre. This sells all sorts of bric-abrac. Café Connect Extra is for people who have dementia and their carers to meet and give each other support. The café runs on the first Wednesday of the month from 2.00pm to 3.30pm at Dedridge Baptist Church, Quentin Rise, Dedridge EH52 5LH. Everyone is welcome to come along.
Ladywell Work Club help yourself and others into work. A weekly dropin club will be available to jobseekers in Forestbank Community Centre in Ladywell. The aim of this new initiative is to help local unemployed residents find a new job by providing resources and professional support in the local area. You will influence the topics you want to know more about to help you find a job. You will also have the opportunity to share your experiences with others and access support including CVs, completing application forms, undertaking job search, or learning interview techniques and you will have access to the most up to date vacancies. Memory Café Newyearfield meets first Thursday of the month, 2.15 -3.30pm at Newyearfield Farm Community Centre, Hawk Brae, Livingston North EH54 6AB. This friendly café welcomes people with dementia and their carers, where they can meet others in a similar situation for support and social contact whilst enjoying refreshments, friendly company and various activities. Carers on their own are also welcome, as are people with dementia who are able to make their own way there.
