Kirknewton and East Calder Church The church hall in Kirknewton is used by various organisati­ons external to the church as well as by church organisati­ons. If you would like to consider using the church hall, please contact us on knec-mail@knec4jesus.org.uk.

Youth Club Kirknewton Youth Club is a weekly group for S1-S6 young people which meets on Friday evenings from 6-8pm in the Village Hall or the Green Room. Contact Jennifer at jenniferki­rknewton@gmail.com,

Lunch Club is open on the first and third Thursdays of the month from 11.30am till about 12.15. in East Calder Church Hall. Cost is still £2 for Soup, roll, sweet, biscuits and cheese, tea and coffee. All will be made welcome.

Green Room If you’d like to use the Green Room during the day for a chat, workspace or get together contact us at least 48 hours in advance to check availabili­ty. To book the Green Room or Village Hall for your parties, cinema parties, baby showers, events or groups telephone 01506 883988 or contact Gill Greaves on 0781688017­5. Mini & Me Come along to the Green Room on Mondays from 2-3pm for noise to well known nursery songs plus coffee & chat afterwards.

BOXCIR Come along to the Village Hall for BOXCIR on Mondays from 7-9pm . It is a combinatio­n of boxing and cardio/strength circuit stations and is a fantastic way to build stamina, strength and all over body fitness. Includes pad work, skipping, instructor led boxing techniques and specific abdominal exercise for male and females 18 years and over, all levels of fitness welcome. Contact Michael on 0743611419­6

Rainbows Girls aged 5-7 are welcome to come along to Kirknewton Village Hall every Wednesday during term times from 5-6.15pm. We have lots of fun doing different crafts, playing all sorts of games, learning new things, working towards special Girl Guiding badges and there is always lots of laughing going on. Rainbows always have a long waiting list so if you are interested in your child joining in the fun please don’t wait till they are 5 to ask to join. Contact Gill at gillww@hotmail.com.

Brownies is for girls aged 7-10 and takes place after Rainbows on a Wednesday in the village hall 6.30-8pm during term times. We are similar to Rainbows but aim it at the slightly older age group. Games, crafts, badges, outings and weekends away at Brownie Camp are just a few of the exciting things the girls get up to when at Brownies. Through this action-packed programme, girls can build confidence by developing new skills, learning about the wider community, finding out about different cultures and getting involved with global issues like the environmen­t and endangered species. A1 Sports A-Star Sports is a funfilled multi-sports experience for children.. It is held on Fridays from 12.30-3.30pm on Fridays. We offer inclusive, developmen­tal multi-sports coaching in a positive environmen­t that begins with an initial ABC-based programme and develop into ten core sports. Your child will receive Certificat­es of Achievemen­t at each level as a reward for enthusiasm, motivation and effective contributi­on.
