Fundraising ball nets £9000 for charities

Event’s success

- Marjorie Kerr

A fundraising ball has raised over £ 9000 for charity.

The Bellissima Ball held its second annual, all female, event last month at The New Almondvale Suite, Livingston.

The ball, which sold out within minutes of going on sale, is organised by four local women and hosted by Mark Martin from Forth 1.

The Bellissima Ball 2017 raised £9042.21 and this year’s funds will be donated to Maggie’s Edinburgh and Bosom Buds of Scotland.

Organisers Jenny, Brenda, Wendy and Vicky would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped make Bellissima Ball 2017 such a success.

That includes all local businesses that donated prizes for the raffle or auction, especially the owners of Fork & Field who were overwhelmingly generous in donating many high value prizes and to their main sponsors Personal Design Studio - Mid Calder, BLUSH Stationary, Secure Airparks, GM Carpets & Flooring, Refine Le Beau and Stella Pumpkin Cake Design.

They would also like to give a special mention to Simon Preece and his team at Food Creations who all worked hard to ensure everything ran smoothly and to Mark Martin; soul singer, Tracey B; Margaret Lothian, Gary Wilson and Sam Hanlon from Mid Calder Camera Club; the butlers for the evening, Nick and Liam; and Future Vintage Hair and Make Up who all kindly gave up their time to come along and support the event.

Planning is already underway for Bellissima Ball 2018 which will be held on Saturday, May 19, with funds going to West Lothian Woman’s Aid and SANDS Lothians.
