June Close The Pub Quiz recently held in the Commercial Inn for funds for Eastfield Training Centre raised the fantastic sum of £317. The CDT take this opportunit­y to thank Quizmaster Albert Mancini, The Commercial Inn being fantastic hosts and to all who contribute­d and supported the event. Fauldhouse Big Breakfast during the school summer holidays in the Partnershi­p Centre from 10-11.30 am Mon- Wed. It should be noted and respected that the shop is not designed for folk just to wander in and uplift items to fill their children’s wardrobe. The initiative is to help children of families who are genuinely struggling and find it extremely difficult to provide basic needs such as clothing and shoes. Any family in such circumstan­ces is welcome to visit the shop. Special Event in St Andrews Church on Sunday at 7 pm. Main speaker Anthony Gielty (Greenock) author of “Out of the Darkness”. Refreshmen­ts will be served in the hall and a warm welcome is extended to everyone.

Congratula­tions to Calla Byle 78 Croftfoot Drive on winning the Galadays best decorated premises with Heroes and Villains in the household section and to The Grange in the Commercial section with Mad Hatters Tea Party. First prize in the Adults fancy dress was Queen of Hearts Helen Aitken and the Under 16 year’s winner was Elephant and Safari Morgan King. The winner of the Open Group fancy dress section was the Mad Hatters Tea Party Sarah Brown and the winner of the School Group section was Trolls Fallahill Primary. The best decorated vehicle was won by Fauldhouse Playgroup.

Craft Fayre in the Miners Welfare on Sunday 9 July from noon - 3 pm. Adults £2 and children under 16 years £1 which includes tea, coffee etc and a strip of raffle tickets.

Gala Day Race results as follows. A new race introduced this year for both boys and girls was the schools relay race and St John the Baptist Primary School were the winners of both races. Winner of the girls quarter mile race for P1- P3 was Brooke Townsley, 2nd B Howley and 3rd E Carr. Half mile race for P4- P6 was won by Ava Leitch, 2nd E McIntyre and 3rd M Lynch. The winner of the mile race for P7s was Abby Dunn, 2nd Doumbia and 3rd R. Bangoura. The girls championsh­ip was won by Ava Leitch. In the boys section the winner of the quarter mile for P1-P3 was Kiegan McIlduff, 2nd A Thomas and 3rd F Gill. The half mile race for P4-P6 was won by John Nimmo, 2nd R Bangoura and 3rd O Toner. The winner of the mile race for P7s was Frank Heron, 2nd R McDougall and 3rd C McDougall. The boys championsh­ip was won by Frank Heron. Congratula­tions to all winners and the gala committee also take this opportunit­y to thank hosts Fauldhouse United FC for the use of their park for these events.
