Popular Pijper replaces Riss
The Parsons Peebles Monarchs will bring experienced rider Theo Pijper into the team to replace the injured Mark Riss who is expected to be missing for six weeks following injuries sustained last Friday.
Pijper knows his way around Armadale Stadium, having spent eight seasons with the club since first arriving in 2002.
The popular Dutch rider finished fourth in the World Longtrack Championship over the weekend and says he’s ready to do his bit for the team.
He commented:“I’ve been riding non-stop so far. I’ve done a few speedway meetings abroad with good results so I will be ready. My equipment is as good as new so we will just go for it.”
“I’ve been there long enough to know. I hope the team will help me a little bit with set-ups if anything’s changed. I’m pleased to be there.”
