Linlithgow still searching for first win

-

Linlithgow’s First XI are still looking for their first win of the season after falling just short in defeat against Kirk Brae in their East of Scotland Division One clash on Saturday.

Linlithgow’s bowlers put in a good shift as they dismissed Kirk Brae for 181 but their batsmen let them down as they fell short of their target, being bowled all out in the final over for 171.

The club’s Second XI have also faced a challenging season thus far and their seven wicket loss at home to Tranent and Preston Village in Division Three made it six losses from six games.

Linlithgow failed dismally with the bat being skittled out for 59 with the visitors easing to the target for the loss of three wickets after 21 overs.

Fauldhouse Vics got their account up and running with their first win of the campaign with a four wicket win at St Boswells.

Chasing 116 for victory after a fine bowling display saw them claim all 10 wickets, Vics saw themselves home.

There were mixed fortunes for the two Livingston teams with the First XI falling well short of their 203 target as they could only managed 167-7 against Holy Cross while the Second XI scored a 42 run triumph against SMRH Third XI to stay second in Division Six.
