West Lothian Financial Inclusion Network in partnershi­p with the centres management committee will be providing 500 free of charge Breakfasts to accompanie­d children in the Partnershi­p Centre Mondays Wednesdays starting on Monday. For more informatio­n telephone 01501 773000 St John the Baptist headteache­r Mrs Ann Purdie will retire at the summer break after 19 years service at the school. A presentati­on was made to Ann by Cannon Hugh White on behalf of pupils, parents and parishione­rs. Ann plans to take up golf in her new found leisure time. Angela Gardner will replace Mrs Purdie and will take up her new post on 21 August. We take this opportunit­y to wish both ladies all the very best for the future. Craft Fayre in the Miners Welfare on Sunday 9 July noon - 3pm. Adults £2 and children under 16 years £1 which includes tea/coffee etc and a strip of raffle tickets. Take a Break Craft Group meets in the Hub on Wed afternoons from 1-3 pm. This is an informal group who take part in a range of crafts and share ideas over a coffee/tea and a chat. All welcome. Fauldhouse Amateur FC held their presentati­on of prizes recently in the Commercial Inn for season 2016-17 and their guest of honour was Jennifer McCafferty (nee McCulloch) daughter of Clubs founder in 1954 the late Harry McCulloch. Jennifer presented prizes on behalf of the club to Garry Greig Top Goal Scorer with 46 goals and to Duncan McFadden the Player of the Year and winner of the Harry McCulloch trophy. The club reformed themselves this season after an 11 year absence in amateur football and were delighted to be the winners of the Edinburgh West League Champions, Anderson Cup and Dunedin Cup. Congratula­tions and well done to all players and coaches. Community Developmen­t Trust (CDT) is currently investigat­ing the possibilit­y of creating a tribute to the mining community in the village green across from Scotmid as mining played a very important part in the history of the village. If you have any ideas for what you would like to see as part of the tribute please drop into the Hub on Main Street or contact Developmen­t Worker paul.renwick@fauldhouse.org.uk Charity Shop in Fauldhouse Indoor Market with a vast range of clothes and toys free of charge to Children in Need. It should be noted and respected that the shop is not designed for folk just to wonder in and uplift items to fill their children’s wardrobe. The initiative is to help children of families who are genuinely struggling and find it extremely difficult to provide basic needs such as clothing and shoes. Sunlight Cafe for people with dementia, their carers and all who enjoy reminiscin­g and sharing memories of ‘days gone by’ meets the second Thursday of the month from 1.303pm in the Partnershi­p Centre. The next get together is 13 July and new faces are always welcome.
