These free, informal walks can be enjoyed by people of all ages and abilities and are held around West Lothian.
The first takes place in Winchburgh today (Thursday) at 10.30am and leaves from the Tally Ho carpark walking to Niddrie Castle.
In Bathgate on Monday a group meets at 10.15am at the Old Library and walks to Glenmavis.
The next day at 11.30am in Knightsridge walkers meet at the community garden and the route of this walk will be decided on the day.
In L i n l i t h g ow on Wednesday at 10 a group meets at Tesco and will walk to the Carmelite Friary. Free car parking is available behind Tesco and all walkers are invited to join the group for a coffee after the walk.
Join Livingston’s walking group on Wednesday, July 19 at 7pm at Carmondean Library. The route of this walk will be decided on the night.
And also on Wednesday at 10am walkers in Broxburn will get together at Strathbrock Partnership Centre before walking the Ryal and Canal Path.
The walks are organised by West Lothian’s Council’s Health Improvement Team.
A spokesperson said: “Our group is friendly and welcoming and the trained walk leaders will support new walkers to build up their pace and distance. You can meet new friends, discover new walks and improve your fitness.
“The walks will last about 60 minutes and you will be able to walk at your own pace.
“Sorry, but dogs are not allowed on the walks and they may be cancelled at short notice at the leader’s discretion if they think the weather conditions make the walk unsafe.”
