& Support Service West Lothian Council is working with McMillan Cancer Support to provide McMillan Cancer information and support services in your community. If you are affected by cancer you may want to know there is someone you can turn to for help. If you want to find information and support and practical help or would just like someone to talk to, come along to our drop in service where you can talk through issues and concerns with our volunteers. We can offer you, your family and carer(s): emotional support or just someone to talk to, information and booklets on all aspects of living with and beyond cancer, arrange free and local counselling and complementary therapy appointments, access to a benefits advisor who can help with your financial worries and help to access a wide range of other local services . Our service is available at McMillan @ Carmondean Connected, Carmondean Centre, Deans Livingston, EH54 8PT on Wednesdays 11am-1pm and Thursdays 10am – 12pm

Ukulele Club A Ukuele Club is held in Deans Community High School every Tuesday from 7-9pm. This is for all levels from beginners to experienced and all age groups.

Volunteer Drivers Wanted to help older people get to local groups. If you would like to help an older person access local groups such as Singing for Health, the Cyrenians Befriending Service would love to hear from you. The Befriending Service helps alleviate loneliness and isolation in older people. One of the ways we do this is by assisting people to get out and about in their community. Volunteer drivers are urgently required in the Livingston area. Expenses are reimbursed at 45p per mile. The centre has over 200 stimulating activities designed to provide motivation and stimulation to our clients, It is known for its success in this area however, in order to continue providing this level of service we urgently need more volunteers. Function Hall Hire Masonic Hall The Masonic Hall, 3 Nellburn Road, Deans, Livingston is available to hire most Saturdays at a reasonable cost. The hall can hold 84 with a good size dance floor and a separate room for a Buffet. If you wish we can supply caterers for your buffet and a Disco or a live band at very reasonable cost. School Drop-In to our Crèche - The under 5’s Crèche is available for preschool children of all ages. We have Drop-In session where you can come along and stay with your child. We offer a wide variety of new and stimulating experiences. We also have crèche sessions where you can leave your child 2 - 3 hours if you need a little ‘me’ time or have an appointment. Shopping without your child! Deans Community High School Sports and Leisure - The pool operates on a session basis please see our website for availability, prices and session times. Copies of our current timetables for swimming, fitness room and sauna can be found in the relevant pages at foot of the web page. There are also fun sessions available with inflatables.
