Please also note we will be ceasing holding open surgeries at the practice. The last ever open surgery will be held on August 23, 2017. Harburn Players Our December 2017 production in Harburn Hall - Sleeping Beauty and the Seven Dwarves - will take place from December 6-9. Would you like a part acting on stage or in any other capacity (stage hand, prompt, wardrobe, props etc)? Casting takes place in Harburn Hall on Sunday, September 3 at 3pm. Rehearsals start on 10 September, Wednesdays from 7-9pm and Sundays from 3-5pm The Friendship Café Meets on the third Thursday each month. The café meets in West Calder Community Centre from 1.30 to 3.30pm. Raffle tickets cost £1 per strip and tea/coffee plus a biscuit or two costs 50p. So please come along and bring your friends. Everyone is welcome. Tuesday Club Held in Stewart Court at 2pm every Tuesday with entertainm­ent followed by afternoon tea at a cost of £1.50 The club is open to anyone in the community. Rosebery Centre A day centre that works closely with people within the community who lives with Dementia) at Polbeth Harwood Church Chapelton Terrace Polbeth. The day service opens three days per week Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday. There are two staff members Anne Marson, manager and Karon Sheridan, assistant. Garden Fete and Mini Fringe At the West Kirk of Calder, this Saturday September 2 from 11am -3pm. Good old fashioned garden fete fun and games, something to suit every age range, tasty home baking, burgers, ice cream, cream teas, soup and rolls served from noon, modern art, jewellery, bottle stall, stocks and much much more. A mini Fringe will take place within the church where guest acts including Amy Hawthorn and Pure Malt will be perform. Entry is free and donation boxes are available on exit. Fete is officially opened by the Lord Lieutenant Isobel Brydie at 11am. Free parking is available behind the doctors’ surgery on opposite side of the road to the church.
