June Close juneclose@ymail.com The Community Developmen­t Trust (CDT) annual Fair Day takes place on Saturday from 11-2pm. Activities at the Village Green, The Hub, The Salvation Army, St Andrews Church Hall and Sheephouse Nursery. Bouncy castle, face painting, baking competitio­n, crafts, dinosaur encounters, storytelli­ng, samba music, refreshmen­ts and food. All welcome to what’s shaping up to be a great day. Run for a Fun on Saturday at the CDT’s Fair Day. Registrati­on opens at 9.30am, warm up 10.45 for an 11am start. Run, jog, walk or push the kids in their buggy on the forestry commission route behind the Partnershi­p Centre. Entry fee £3 per adult and £2 for children. Family rate of £8 for up to 5 children. Every runner receives a free medal and a goody bag. Entry fees payable on the run day on collection of your number. Come along and join in the fun. Fauldhouse Boxing Club Kids Class meets every Wed at Park View from 6-7.30pm and a new mixed class for kids and adults meets every Friday from 6-7pm. New members welcome at both classes. Help the Orphans Charity Night in the Commercial Inn on Sat 2 Sept from 9 pm-12.45am. Fantastic acoustics and vocals with Barry Thomas and Johnny. Donations at the door and buffet served at 9pm. All monies raised will go towards building a much needed orphanage and school

over in Uganda. All welcome to come along and join in for a great cause. The Community Council will meet on Wed at 7 pm in the Partnershi­p Centre. Elections are due for new members and anyone interested is welcome to come along and complete a nomination form. Crofthead Care Home Is looking for a pianist who can give some of their time voluntaril­y to play either on a weekly or monthly basis. The Sunlight Cafe For people with dementia, their carers and all who enjoy reminiscin­g and sharing memories of ‘days gone by’ meets in the Partnershi­p Centre on the second Thursday of every month from 1.303pm. All welcome.

Fauldhouse United F.C. Sportsman’s Dinner takes place in Greenburn Golf Club on Saturday, September 16 and tickets priced £25 can be purchased from any committee member. Dinner, raffle, auction and late bar. Entertainm­ent by comedian Jimmy Stirling and well known footballer Jimmy Nicholl. Purchase your ticket now to avoid disappoint­ment.

Carers of West Lothian Working in partnershi­p with the CDT’s Timebank project will be giving a talk on the Carers service across West Lothian on Thursday 21 Sept. Anyone interested in finding out about this service is welcome to pop along to the Hub on Main Street at 1pm on September 21.

Eastfield Developmen­t Centre Formerly Eastfield Training Centre is under new management and is available for hire by community groups, clubs and for birthday parties and other occasions. The local CDT has taken over the management of the facility which has a function hall, small room and kitchen and changing rooms with up to eight showers. A new boiler has been installed and other essential repairs are being carried out to bring the facility to a standard fit for purpose.
