Pupils given training to support autistic peers
Pupils from three West Lothian secondary schools have been learning how to support youngsters with autism. The ASD Ambassadors training event took place at Howden Park Centre recently for 30 S5 and S6 pupils at Broxburn Academy, Inveralmond Community High School and St Kentigern’s Academy. The training, which is a first for West Lothian, showed students how they can support pupils with autism in their school and covered a variety of areas relating to how the autistic youngster experiences their learning environment how they can be helped if they are experiencing difficulties.
