Stars gearing up for tough indoor season

The transition from the outdoor bowls scene to the indoor version steps up a gear at the weekend.

The opening play in the launch of the Jack High Insurance sponsored Gents Scottish Masters include a section being hosted by Midlothian venue, Dalkeith.

While the level of entry is admittedly a little underwhelm­ing in the competitio­n, there is no lack of quality representi­ng the Wes t Lothian Indoor Bowling Club banner.

The team are represente­d by prominent figures in the shape of Calum Logan, Mark Allison, and Richard Mark.

Logan lines up in Sunday’s preliminar­y round against Chris Stein on the 9.30am session while the 11.30am fill includes Allison against Alastair Nimmo and Mark against Jack Cook.

The Greengauge sponsored Gents Scottish League is fast approachin­g its 2017/18 launch and West Lothian Indoor Bowling Club parade their skills in Section B of the Premier League.

They have been matched up against tough opposition in the shape of East Lothian, Falkirk, Paisley, Ardrossan, and Elgin.

Bathgate- based Balbardie Indoor Bowling Club feature in the B section of Division One and will cross swords with Inverclyde, Ayr, West of Scotland, East Kilbride, and Abbeyview.
