-

Bathgate Thistle joined Broxburn in the second round of the Junior Cup with a narrow 2-1 victory away to Lewis United.

However, Livingston United and Pumpherston were both dumped out in the first round.

Livi were always up against it as they faced Superleauge title challengers Penicuik Athletic away from home and suffered a 7-0 defeat.

Craig Martin’s Pumphy side can feel disappointed by their 3-1 home loss against Cambuslang Rangers.

Their hopes of progressing to the next round weren’t helped by Ally McRitchie’s dismissal.

In league action, Whitburn’s tough start to the Premier League campaign continued as they fell to a 2-1 home loss against Tranent.

The visitors took the lead in the early stages before Gary Brass saw his penalty saved by former Burnie team-mate Dougie Horne.

Tranent passed up several brilliant chances to increase their lead, most notably Kayne Paterson hitting the woodwork when well placed, before they finally netted a second through Cameron Dawson.

Brass headed home for the hosts on the hour mark but they were unable to get back into the game as they fell to their fifth straight league loss.

West Calder United are now West Lothian’s sole remaining unbeaten team after they eased to a 6-0 away victory at Craigroyston.

The South Division side have let slip just two points in seven games this campaign and picked up the three points on the back of four goals from David Love.

Armadale Thistle jumped into third place in the table with a comfortable 3-1 victory over local rivals Harthill Royal as the Jags made it consecutive wins for the first time this season.

TheY jumped above Pumpherston, who were in cup action.

Stoneyburn fell to their fourth league defeat in a row as they suffered a 5-1 loss to Crossgates Primrose at Beechwood Park.
