Todorov happy to play where asked

-

Fans’ favourite Nikolay Todorov insists he’ll always give 100 per cent wherever he plays – because he doesn’t know how to offer anything less.

The 21-year-old has been used as a makeshift centreback recently and could revert back to that role this weekend with Declan Gallagher set to serve a twomatch suspension.

But the Hearts loanee says the manager can rely on him to give it his all wherever he is on the park.

He said: “The manager needed me to play at the back and I obviously said it’s not a problem because it is what is best for the team.

“I’ll do whatever I can to help the team and will just do whatever I can where I’m asked to play.

“If I’m maybe not doing something right in the game or make a mistake, at least my effort and determination can be at 100 per cent all the time wherever I am on the pitch.”

And he had special praise for the club’s supporters who have taken the Bulgarian to their hearts.

He said: “The fans are brilliant and this club and this team really deserves bigger crowds and hopefully they will come back because we are doing well just now.

“I’m a very passionate player and I will always give my all. To see that the fans appreciate that is very special and motivates me.

“I really enjoy being at Livingston and the fans are a big part of that, they have been brilliant.”

The Lions sit in the play-off places after a fast start to life in the second tier but he says the players are refusing to get carried away and are taking things one game at a time.

“We have had a very good start to the season but that’s all it is. We just concentrate on getting our heads down and working hard,” he said.

“We are new in this league so we treat every game as difficult and a chance to prove ourselves.

“Yes, it’s been a good start but we’re keeping our feet on the ground. We can’t get lazy because it is a very tough league. We’ll just work hard and see where it takes us.

“We as a team need to be at the best every week to pick up points.”
