Michael says thanks after braving the shave

-

A 59-year-old man who was diagnosed with cancer three years ago has‘braved the shave’for charity for the second time in three years.

Michael Inglis, from Bathgate, is raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support after being diagnosed with throat cancer and receiving help from the charity.

Michael said:“I was diagnosed with cancer three years ago - throat cancer. Macmillan were great with me, helping me sort out my financial situation.

“I also received a cheque for them to help immediate expenses, so the following year I did my first Brave the Shave. After missing last year’s brave the shave I decided to do it this year.”

Michael is also raising money in memory of his mother and father, Helen and Hugh Inglis, who both died from cancer.

Michael got his hair chopped at Fauldhouse barber the Dapper Napper which is owned by his friend Brian Jackson, who also shaved his head two years ago.

And he is still raising money towards his target.

Michael said:“I would like to thank all for the support I received, from the local community, the Fauldhouse Partnership centre and my Facebook family.”
